The iris is a magical metaphor for us. It weaves together several images that are central to who we are and what we love to do. It has it’s origins in Greek mythology where Iris was considered the messenger of the gods and the iris became the literary term for a rainbow: images of purpose and of vibrant color abound. Marion loves to grow and cultivate new things that bring joy to the world: her coaching clients, her garden, and her relationships. Peter loves to look into the future and imagine opportunities, so the optical metaphor is perfect – especially when we realized that the pupil is in the centre of the iris, just as students and learning are central to Peter’s passion. Rainbows, flowers, eyes – all in one little word.
